  • Prepare and facilitate annual meetings, including drafting notices and managing legal compliance.
  • Handle disputes related to building repairs, rule enforcement, and construction.

Landlord-Tenant Focus:

  • Represent clients in NYC Housing Courts, including non-payment and holdover proceedings.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as rent demands, termination notices, predicate notices, and settlement agreements.
  • Litigate plenary actions, including breach of contract and lease disputes.
  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel on lease defaults, lease modifications and evictions.

General Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and motions.
  • Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely timekeeping records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on case strategies and client representation.
  • Participate in firm marketing efforts, such as drafting publications and developing client relationships.
  • Assist in training new hires and improving internal processes.

Ad Hoc Assignments:

  • Address emergent legal issues and provide timely counsel to clients.
  • Support other practice areas within the firm as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active New York State Bar license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in NYC co-op, condo, and/or landlord-tenant law.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of NYC housing laws, and Housing Court procedures.

Preferred:
