Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a seasoned associate to join a highly specialized construction defect litigation practice in the San Francisco area. You will engage early in substantive matters, including homeowners, associations, and expert-driven disputes, with opportunities for on-site inspections and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
• 1+ year of attorney experience with civil litigation exposure.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and client service abilities.
• Organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Self motivated and able to take initiative.
• Construction defect or related complex civil litigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and manage substantive responsibilities in construction defect litigation matters.
• Draft and evaluate case management orders and related litigation documents.
• Manage, review, and organize discovery throughout the life of a case.
• Conduct legal research and prepare clear, persuasive written work product.
• Participate in property inspections and meetings with clients, experts, and other case participants.
• Communicate directly and professionally with clients regarding case developments and next steps.
• Coordinate with attorneys, consultants, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Track deadlines, organize case materials, and maintain attention to detail.
• Take increasing ownership of matters as litigation skills grow.

• Build meaningful litigation experience in a highly specialized and respected construction defect practice.
• Take on substantive case responsibilities early in your career rather than being limited to behind the scenes work.
• Gain direct exposure to complex claims involving homeowners, community associations, construction professionals, and experts.
• Participate in on site inspections and client meetings while developing practical litigation and case management skills.

Location: San Francisco, California and the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. This is a hybrid opportunity combining collaborative office time with local client meetings, site inspections, and other case responsibilities throughout the Bay Area.

Note: Candidates must have 1+ year of attorney experience with exposure to civil litigation. Active California Bar membership is required. Construction defect, construction litigation, real estate litigation, or related experience is preferred but not required.
