CONFIDENTIAL is seeking an Associate Attorney – Construction Defect Defense in Glendale, CA. Full-time opportunity for a lawyer with 3–10 years of litigation experience, open to transitioning from general civil litigation into construction defect and insurance defense.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing required.
• 3+ years of litigation experience.
• Construction Defect or Insurance Defense experience not required.
• General civil litigation experience encouraged to apply.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
• Experience drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and grow within a construction defect defense practice.

Responsibilities

• Handle construction defect and related civil litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and correspondence.
• Prepare initial case evaluations, interim reports, pretrial reports, and appellate documents.
• Draft discovery requests and responses.
• Prepare and respond to discovery-related motions.
• Draft motions for summary judgment.
• Attend hearings and other court proceedings.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions.
• Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
• Conduct legal research and assist with litigation strategy.
• Assist with trial preparation and case resolution.
• Manage litigation deadlines and communicate with clients regarding case developments.
