CPC Climate Capital is a new division within The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) and a sub-award partner of Climate United Fund. CPC Climate Capital will support Calvert Impact in the deployment of approximately $2.5 billion in Greenhouse Gas Reduction (GGRF) funds by advancing the CPC Climate Capital Multifamily Decarbonization Strategy nationally. CPC Climate Capital was selected to administer a portion of the awarded GGRF funds on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide subordinate debt financing to owners of multifamily housing nationally to reduce or eliminate on-site fossil fuels, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These climate goals will be simultaneously delivered against other critical national priorities, including the creation and preservation of affordable housing, promoting equity and environmental justice, and support of high-quality jobs.

Role Summary :

The Community Preservation Corporation, through a subsidiary, is a member of a coalition that was selected as an awardee of a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (“GGRF”). A subsidiary of CPC will deploy GGRF funds to address the climate crisis by making multifamily housing more sustainable. As Associate Attorney–Compliance, you will focus on assisting with an implementation program to address the statutory and programmatic requirements of the grant.

What You’ll do :

  • Assist with designing and implementing a compliance program for the GGRF program as required by the EPA, the federal regulations, the GGRF award agreement and sub-recipient agreement.
  • Work with internal and external parties to help create and / or modify policies, practices and procedures to ensure compliance with the grant’s requirements.
  • Work with CPC business units to identify regulatory obligations within each business unit and ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Assess on-going reporting requirements in connection with the GGRF funds.
  • Workwiththe prime recipient as needed to coordinate reporting and compliance.
  • Assist with federal procurement documentation and process.
  • Effectively communicate compliance processes and procedures across the organization.
  • PerformothersupporttasksfortheLegalDepartmentasneeded.
  • Perform other duties, as directed or required.

Skills and Experience :

  • Juris Doctor degree, with admission to and good standing in the New York State bar.
  • 6-8years’experiencefocused onregulatory and compliance matters, with a focus on federal regulations.
  • Experience with grant administration.
  • Working knowledge of relevant federal requirements (e.g. 2 CRF Part 200 and OMB circulars)
  • Experiencewithmultifamilylending or affordable housing programsisaplus.
  • Experience with programs focused on electrification or building sustainability is a plus.
  • Strongattentiontodetailwithanabilitytomulti-taskandrespondwelltopressureand competing deadlines.

This is a full-time, hybrid role where you will work from the Manhattan office three days a week. The salary range is $130,000 – $150,000, dependent on experience.
