A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in Commercial Leasing in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role offers attorneys the opportunity to manage transactions from inception to closing, negotiate key contracts, and serve as trusted advisors to clients in a boutique environment.

Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases for office, retail, and industrial properties.
• Represent parties throughout the leasing process, from letters of intent to finalizing leases.
• Draft and negotiate ancillary lease documents, including guaranties and SNDAs.
• Advise on build-out, alteration, and construction provisions in lease agreements.
• Draft and negotiate access license agreements for construction or alteration work.
• Advise on compliance issues affecting leased commercial space.
• Support financing and refinancing transactions involving leased properties.
• Coordinate lease-related closings and transaction logistics.
• Advise on lease disputes, coordinating with litigation counsel as needed.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York.
• Approximately 4-7 years of experience in transactional real estate.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related documents.
• Ability to act as transfer agent for cooperatives and advise on stock and lease transfers.
• Strong research and writing skills with a solid academic record.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple matters.
• Comfortable with technology and eager to adopt new systems.

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

Admission to practice law in New York.
