A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney to join its New York, NY team in a hybrid capacity. The successful candidate will handle defense‐oriented civil litigation matters focusing on automobile accidents, premises liability, and labor law disputes. This role offers a blend of remote and in‐office work, providing flexibility while supporting a collaborative, client‐focused practice.

Duties

Manage a docket of defense cases in automobile liability, premises liability, and labor law from inception through resolution

Draft pleadings, motions, and comprehensive discovery requests/responses with precision and strategic insight

Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda to support case strategy and dispositive motions

Prepare for and appear at depositions, hearings, and trials, representing client interests effectively in court

Collaborate with expert witnesses, adjusters, and co‐counsel to gather facts and develop arguments

Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and written reports to keep them informed

Coordinate with partners and senior attorneys to review case status, refine litigation approaches, and ensure seamless case progression

Requirements

Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar

2–10 years of experience defending automobile, premises liability, and labor law matters

Demonstrated skill in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, including summary judgment applications

Strong legal research capabilities and familiarity with discovery protocols

Proven ability to manage multiple files independently while meeting firm and court deadlines

Excellent oral advocacy and interpersonal abilities, with a professional and client‐focused demeanor

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA‐accredited law school

Certifications

Admission to practice law in New York

Advanced legal research proficiency using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or equivalent databases

Exceptional writing skills for drafting pleadings, motions, and client communications
