The position is hybrid with in-office expectation of 3 days per week, and compensation ranges from $150,000 to $200,000+ based on experience, seniority, productivity, and any portable business.

A well-established Texas full-service law firm is confidentially seeking a commercial bankruptcy and business restructuring attorney to help re-establish and grow its business-side bankruptcy capability. This is a platform-oriented role for an attorney who can run matters end-to-end and enjoys both advisory and disputes work on creditor and enterprise insolvency issues.

THE ROLE

• Advise business clients on commercial bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency strategy.
• Represent creditors and business interests in bankruptcy proceedings and related disputes.
• Lead or support Chapter 11 matters and restructuring engagements, as applicable.
• Independently manage matters from inception through resolution, including motion practice and contested matters.

Compensation:

Indicative associate base range approximately $150,000 to $200,000+ (flexible based on experience, seniority, productivity, and any portable business).

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of practice experience handling commercial bankruptcy and business restructuring matters.
• Active Texas bar admission and in good standing.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Experience representing business clients (creditors and other commercial stakeholders), rather than a consumer bankruptcy-only practice.
• Ability to manage matters independently with strong strategic judgment and execution.
• Stable employment history with demonstrated professional progression.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

• Chapter 11 experience.
• Creditors’ rights experience and broader commercial insolvency/workout exposure.
• Portable business or transferable client relationships (approximately $300K+ is viewed positively but is not required).
• Established referral network and strong Texas market familiarity.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Associate billable target: 1,800 hours annually.

• Partnership structures may be available depending on level (contract partner and income partner considered), with an equity pathway generally aligned to approximately 8 years of practice experience and completion of a full performance year before equity consideration.
