Job description
Overview

A well-established California workers compensation defense firm is seeking experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorneys to join its growing statewide team. This position offers a fully remote work option with flexibility to work from one of 12 office locations across California, including Northern California, which is currently the top priority for hiring.

Responsibilities
  • Represent employers, insurance carriers, and TPAs in workers' compensation proceedings
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and settlement conferences
  • Develop case strategies, evaluate claims, and negotiate settlements
  • Collaborate with legal assistants and support teams to streamline case handling
  • Track billable hours with clarity and accuracy (40-hour weekly target)
  • Maintain compliance with internal procedures and client service standards
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
  • 2+ years of workers compensation defense experience (Required)
  • Familiarity with EAMS and case management systems preferred
  • Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
  • Strong client communication and file management capabilities

  • Remote: 100% remote work available statewide
  • Offices available for optional in-person work in: Greater San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Greater Los Angeles Area, and more.
