Job summary

Falcon Legal Talent seeks a West Virginia-licensed Associate Attorney to join its foreclosure practice in a remote role. You will oversee residential foreclosure and creditors’ rights matters from assignment through resolution, with opportunities for growth and a competitive compensation package.

Entry-level to mid-level attorneys are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in foreclosure, real estate, eviction, or bankruptcy is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the West Virginia Bar.
  • Willingness to obtain admission to West Virginia federal courts; other jurisdictions a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned foreclosure and creditors’ rights matters from assignment to resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, notices of hearing, proposed orders, and other legal documents.
  • Review paralegal work and revise as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, cases, rules, and authorities.
  • Attend hearings, conferences, and court proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate case information in the case-management system.
  • Communicate with clients, attorneys, and staff; travel for court appearances when required.

About the Opportunity

A well-established creditors’ rights law firm is seeking a West Virginia-licensed Associate Attorney to join its foreclosure practice. This is a remote position offering flexible scheduling, competitive compensation, monthly bonus eligibility, and opportunities for professional growth.

The attorney will oversee residential foreclosure and creditors’ rights matters from assignment through resolution. Entry-level attorneys are encouraged to apply, and prior experience in foreclosure, real estate, creditors’ rights, eviction, or bankruptcy is beneficial but not required.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney seeking substantive case responsibility, courtroom experience, and the opportunity to develop within a collaborative legal team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an assigned caseload of foreclosure and creditors’ rights matters from assignment through conclusion.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, notices of hearing, proposed orders, and other legal documents.
  • Review work prepared by paralegals and make revisions as necessary.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, court rules, and other legal authorities.
  • Identify legal issues requiring additional research, review, or escalation.
  • Attend hearings, settlement conferences, oral arguments, and other court proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case information within the firm’s case-management system.
  • Establish and maintain reliable follow-up procedures to ensure filing and service deadlines are met.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, paralegals, court personnel, and other parties.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to provide responsive, high-quality client service.
  • Travel for court appearances and other business needs when required.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the West Virginia Bar.
  • Willingness to obtain admission to the applicable federal district courts in West Virginia at the firm’s expense, if not already admitted.
  • Admission in Virginia or Maryland is a plus.
  • Federal district court admission in Virginia or Maryland is also a plus.
  • Entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior experience in foreclosure, creditors’ rights, real estate, eviction, bankruptcy, or civil litigation is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral-advocacy skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, clients, and staff at all levels.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and professionally motivated.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and related applications.
  • Experience with electronic case-management systems is preferred; CaseAware experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for court appearances.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with experience. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
