Condon & Forsyth has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle and Sacramento. We are seeking a New York Litigation Associate with experience, to join our premier aviation and insurance defense practice team in New York.

Overview

We are seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney with a focus on aviation-related matters or related fields to join our legal team. This role involves representing clients in diverse litigation, with an emphasis aviation defense cases. While direct aviation defense experience is helpful, relevant experience in New York State litigation, commercial litigation, transportation law, personal injury, insurance defense, government regulatory law or international law will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of litigation experience, New York State preferred.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and admitted to practice in the State of New York or admission pending.
• One to three years of experience in civil litigation with a focus on aviation or related fields (New York State litigation, commercial litigation, transportation law, personal injury, insurance defense, government regulatory law, or international law).
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and work efficiently under pressure.
• Demonstrated success in providing legal counsel in litigation matters.

Knowledge / Helpful Experience

• Trial experience
• General knowledge of aviation/insurance law
• Proficiency with technologies that improve efficiencies and facilitate the practice of law and remote work

Responsibilities Will Include

• Provide legal counsel and representation to clients involved in aviation-related disputes, accidents, and liability claims, drawing from experience in related fields.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and case preparation with a focus on aviation defense strategies.
• Collaborate with Partners and clients to gather evidence and formulate effective case strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and settlements.
• Attend court proceedings, hearings, and mediations to represent clients in diverse litigation matters.
• Perform case analysis, litigation planning and budgeting.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.
• You will have the opportunity to expand your breadth of litigation experience including managing the entire legal process, drafting complaints, investigation and discovery, site inspections, trial preparation, court hearings and proceedings, arguing motions, representing clients in trials and negotiating settlements.
