A thriving downtown law firm is growing and looking for an Associate Attorney to join their civil defense litigation team! They handle it all—construction disputes, insurance defense, professional liability, and transportation cases—so no two days are the same. In this role, you'll draft pleadings, represent clients in court, and assist principals with trial prep and proceedings. Job Description:

- Communicates with clients to keep them informed of case developments through direct correspondence and reports.
- Prepares legal documents such as discovery documents, discovery motions, dispositive motions, pre-trial pleadings, and other necessary briefs.
- Gathers evidence, conducts research, interviews clients and witnesses, prepares legal briefs, and develops strategies, arguments, and testimony for defense or to initiate legal action.
- Attends and assists at trials.
- Research legal issues and prepares memorandums.
- Plans and prepares various aspects of trials, including witness examination, opening statements, trial motions, exhibits, and jury instructions.
- Prepares witnesses for deposition or trial, including addressing key issues and reviewing significant documents.


Qualifications:

- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- 3-5 years of experience required
- Licensed to practice law in all relevant state and federal courts.
- Mandatory licensure by the Missouri Bar; licensure by the Illinois State Bar is preferred.
