Clyde & Co US LLP seeks an associate to join our growing Seattle office, handling a wide range of liability and insurance matters including coverage, bad faith, UIM, premises liability, trucking, and employment disputes.

Responsibilities include taking depositions, drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and preparing cases for trial or mediation. The firm offers hybrid work flexibility, performance bonuses, student debt repayment, and a comprehensive benefits program.

The practice covers a wide range of liability and insurance challenges including insurance coverage and bad faith, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, UIM defense, premises liability, trucking/transportation claims, and employment and property disputes.

Responsibilities

• Take depositions, attend hearings, and mediations as required.
• Draft and submit pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and Nexis.
• Draft discovery requests and discovery responses.
• Review and analyze documents and materials for production.
• Actively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies.
• Report to insurance carrier clients and insureds.
• Prepare cases for trial/mediation and participate in trial/mediation.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice in Washington state.
• Experience in civil litigation.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and time‑sensitive matters simultaneously.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
