Marshall & Taylor PLLC is seeking an associate attorney in Raleigh, NC to join our family law team. You will work with senior attorneys, perform legal research, draft documents, and manage client files while developing your practice.

The ideal candidate has a JD, has passed the bar, and is active with the ABA. You will participate in hearings and collaborate with clients and staff to advance cases and grow the firm’s client base.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Family Law.
  • Experience in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Ability to attend court hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Strong analytical skills to review client issues and determine the best course of action.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with clients and senior associates.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain and update client files efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base.
  • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed to work with all levels of staff and clients.
  • Candidates must have passed the bar exam.
  • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active ABA membership.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve cases efficiently by coordinating with senior attorneys and paralegals.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and other proceedings, and provide counsel with senior associates.
  • Maintain organized client files for quick access by attorneys and staff.
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters and advise clients on solutions.
  • Create legal documents for negotiations and proceedings.

Compensation

$89,000 yearly

Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys
  • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
