Job summary

Lisinski Law Firm seeks a seasoned Legal Associate Attorney to act as a strategic advisor, quality control lead, and subject matter expert for the Court Program. You will audit filings, guide on escalations, develop trainings, and partner with Operations to improve processes across hundreds of cases while upholding the highest standards of legal quality and client service.

The role leverages removal defense experience, strong written and oral communication, and a collaborative mindset to scale

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and current bar membership in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience as an immigration attorney.
  • 3+ years of removal defense experience, including Master Calendar and Individual Calendar hearings.
  • Preferred experience with humanitarian and family-based immigration and consular processing (e.g., VAWA; T/U visas; family-based petitions; waivers; appeals).
  • Strong command of U.S. immigration law and related federal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, legal writing, and research skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred; Spanish fluency strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research, monitor changes in U.S. laws and policies, analyze updates, and communicate applicability firmwide.
  • Provide legal support for complex cases, including escalation reviews and risk management.
  • Support Legal Leadership Team in developing and implementing firmwide legal strategy and compliance.
  • Draft, review, and update legal documents and internal firm policy documents.
  • Draft, review, and conduct training sessions for internal teams.
  • Support the Legal Department as subject-matter experts in immigration law to ensure consistency and quality control.
  • Perform additional duties as determined by the Director Attorney.

About the Role

The Legal Associate Attorney is a highly strategic role that goes beyond traditional case management, serving as a key legal advisor, quality control leader, and subject matter expert for the Court Program. This attorney will support the continued growth of a rapidly expanding practice by auditing court filings, providing guidance on complex legal escalations, developing and delivering trainings, and partnering with Operations to improve processes and strengthen legal consistency across the organization. The successful attorney will leverage deep removal defense experience, strong communication skills, and a collaborative, solutions oriented mindset to influence outcomes across hundreds of cases, helping scale the program while maintaining the highest standards of legal quality and client service.

Your Key Contributions
  • Conduct legal research and monitor changes in U.S. laws and policies, analyze updates, and communicate applicability firmwide.
  • Provide legal support for complex cases, including escalation reviews, risk management, and policy interpretation.
  • Support the Legal Leadership Team in developing and implementing firmwide legal strategy and compliance initiatives.
  • Draft, review, and update legal documents and internal firm policy documents.
  • Draft, review, and conduct training sessions for internal teams.
  • Support the Legal Department as subject-matter experts in immigration law to ensure legal consistency, compliance, and quality control.
  • Perform additional duties as determined by the Director Attorney.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and current bar membership in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience as an immigration attorney.
  • 3+ years of removal defense experience, including experience preparing for and representing clients in Master Calendar and Individual Calendar Hearings.
  • Preferred experience with humanitarian and family-based immigration, and consular processing (e.g., VAWA; T visas; U visas; family-based petitions; nonimmigrant and immigrant visas; naturalization; waivers; RFE/NOID/NOIR responses; appeals; and motions before USCIS and immigration court).
  • Strong command of U.S. immigration law and related federal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, legal writing, and research skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Sound judgment and ethical decision-making in client and firm matters.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client advocacy, firm integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred, with Spanish fluency strongly preferred; additional language skills are a plus.
Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm local time (Occasional travel, remote work)
Compensation

The expected salary for this role is $90.000 / year, though the final offer will reflect several factors such as your experience, skills, and the role's location and may be outside of this range. Candidates should expect offers that reflect their individual qualifications, experience, and location. The salary provided is directional, and actual compensation may vary.
