Job summary

Aldridge Pite, LLP seeks a qualified attorney to support title-related litigation and foreclosure matters. You will analyze issues, manage a caseload, and coordinate with the title team to ensure timely client updates and compliant filings.

The role requires a JD from an accredited school and MD bar admission (DC bar a plus). Prior experience with banks or mortgage servicers is advantageous, with opportunities for growth in a collaborative firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Must be MD barred. MD and DC barred is a plus.
  • Experience representing banks or mortgage servicers or title matters is a plus; recent graduates encouraged.
  • Licensing and background appropriate for multi-state practice.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze legal issues and review strategies for assigned matters with Managing Attorney.
  • Handle a caseload, primarily of litigated title curative matters, per timelines.
  • Provide legal support to the title team and update client systems.
  • Prepare and review a variety of legal documents for sufficiency and compliance.
  • Research statutes and prepare foreclosure related motions, complaints, and briefs.
  • Draft bankruptcy motions and other filings; perform quality control reviews.
  • Assist in pre-trial motions, court hearings, and depositions as trained.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Analyze legal issues and review strategies for assigned matters with Managing Attorney;
  • Handle a caseload, primarily of litigated title curative matters, in accordance with firm, client and court timeline requirements;
  • Provide legal support to the title team;
  • Work with department staff to ensure timely updates to client systems and the firm’s case management system;
  • Prepare and review a variety of legal documents for legal sufficiency and compliance with client directives and state/federal law;
  • Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, codes, and prepare foreclosure related motions, complaints, responsive pleadings, and briefs;
  • Review and analyze real estate law and real estate title cases and ability to handle substantive real estate and title litigation matters;
  • Draft bankruptcy motions and other filings;
  • Perform quality control reviews of documents and staff work;
  • Depending on experience level and/or ability to be trained, this role can include: (1) draft /argue pre-trial motions and pleadings, attend court hearings and mediations, and (2) handle depositions; participate in trials at the state and Federal level.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school;
  • Must be MD barred. MD and DC barred is a plus;
  • Experience representing banks or mortgage servicers, experience resolving and litigating title curative matters or general real estate or litigation experience is a plus, but recently licensed attorneys with relevant background are encouraged to apply.
