Goetz Platzer LLP, a dynamic, mid-sized full-service law firm with an impeccable reputation, seeks an experienced commercial litigator with a minimum of 7 years of experience in New York practice. Labor and employment experience is a plus.

An attorney who is insightful, intuitively analytical, and self-directed in overseeing client files with partner oversight and guidance while maintaining substantial autonomy in day-to-day case management will be successful in this role.The candidate must have commercial litigation experience, and be able to manage their own case load. Detailed knowledge of CPLR is a must. Responsibilities will include preparing pleadings, discovery, and motion practice, conducting depositions, court appearances and trials.

The ideal candidate will manage litigation cases, draft motions and pleadings, resolve and settle legal disputes on behalf of clients, and advocate for clients in court. This individual will build client relationships and provide an excellent customer experience for clients.

Annual base salary is $160,000+ (Goetz Platzer is not a lock-step firm and the exact amount of salary for this position is determined by experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors). In addition to base salary, the firm offers an annual discretionary bonus, paid time off (including vacation, sick leave, and personal days in accordance with firm policy), medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan (employee-only contribution plan), and a pre-tax transportation benefits.

Goetz Platzer is not an insurance defense firm and does not seek an insurance defense litigator or attorney.

Qualifications

• Strong background in law with expertise in New York practice and commercial litigation
• Labor and Employment experience is a plus
• Experience in providing legal advice and conducting research
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide effective solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership and good standing with the New York State Bar
