Associate Attorney - $125-150k
Our client, a well known law firm is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Attorney
withgeneral liability litigation experience to join their growing legal practice.
The ideal candidate will manage a diverse defense caseload involving premises liability, property damage, personal injury and product liability. This position offers direct client interaction, hands-on courtroom experience, and structured opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative defense practice.
Case Management: Handle all aspects of insurance defense and general liability litigation from inception through resolution or trial.
Pleadings & Motions: Draft persuasive legal documents, including answers, preliminary objections, motions for summary judgment, and discovery requests/responses.
Depositions: Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and expert witnesses.
Court Appearances: Represent clients in court for hearings, pre-trial conferences, status conferences, and oral arguments.
Strategy & Evaluation: Analyze liability, evaluate damages, and formulate clear defense strategies in consultation with senior partners and insurance carriers.
Client & Carrier Reporting: Maintain regular, clear, and timely reporting to insurance claims adjusters and corporate clients in compliance with billing and reporting guidelines.
Settlement & Alternative Dispute Resolution: Prepare comprehensive mediation statements, negotiate settlements, and participate in arbitrations or mediations.
Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Bar Admission in NJ, NYC or PA.
Experience: Experience in general liability, casualty defense, or personal injury defense.
Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with local court rules, procedural rules, and insurance defense practices.
Ability to manage a steady caseload while meeting firm billing metrics and deadlines.
