Job summary

Circle Surrogacy, a global leader in family-building services and part of the NorthStar Fertility family, is seeking an Associate Attorney to support our legal team. You will draft contracts, review insurance documents, and help establish legal parentage for intended parents, surrogates, and egg donors.

You will collaborate with IVF clinics, outside counsel, social workers, and program staff to navigate a fast-paced, evolving field of ART law while delivering compassionate, client-centered

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required
• Effective communicator with ability to build trusting relationships
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience working with clients in emotional/high-stress situations

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce CRM

Responsibilities

• Legal research on ART and related IP, surrogate, and donor issues
• Contract drafting and negotiating; gestational surrogacy or egg donation contracts
• Manage caseload from intake to delivery and post-delivery
• Coordinate with clients, IVF clinics, outside attorneys, Circle staff and trust accountants
• Prioritize high-volume email communications and respond within 48 hours
• Assist other teams with projects, trainings, and insurance reviews/appeals

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to play an integral role assisting our legal team in providing services for intended parents, surrogates, and egg donors throughout their journey. The position will allow person to draft contracts, review and analyze insurance contracts and policies, assist intended parents in establishing their legal parentage rights and learn and grow in an ever changing and niche field of law of assisted reproductive technology. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask and maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations, critical thinking and problem -solving skills, and an interest and/or experience in the field.

What you'll do:

• Legal research on topics related to assisted reproductive technology and legal issues impacting assisted reproductive technology and IP, surrogate, donor relationships. Proficiency in West Law preferred.
• Contract drafting and negotiating. Experience in gestational surrogacy or egg donation contracts preferred, but not a requirement.
• Managing caseload of intended parents independently from initial client sign on through delivery of child and return home.
• Working directly with clients and third parties, such as IVF Clinics and outside attorneys, as well as Circle’s social workers, program coordinators, and trust accountants.
• Ability to manage high email volume and to prioritize important communications and respond within forty-eight (48) business hours.
• Additional tasks as assigned, such as helping other teams with various projects, trainings, and helping with insurance reviews and appeals.
