Job summary

Orion Placement invites applications for a full-time on-site associate to handle sophisticated commercial litigation from inception through resolution. This role offers direct interaction with partners in a boutique setting and opportunities to manage depositions, motions, and hearings in CT state and federal courts.

The ideal candidate is admitted to the Connecticut Bar with 2+ years of litigation experience, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to work independently while

Qualifications

• Connecticut Bar admission required.
• 2+ years of litigation experience preferred; higher levels are encouraged.
• Experience practicing in Connecticut State Court and/or Federal Court required.
• Passion for litigation and courtroom advocacy.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
• Commercial litigation experience preferred.
• Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex commercial litigation from inception through resolution.
• Appear in Connecticut State and Federal Courts.
• Handle courtroom proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and hearings.
• Take and defend depositions of parties and witnesses.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
• Research legal and factual issues to develop effective litigation strategies.
• Analyze business disputes, contracts, records, and potential claims.
• Collaborate closely with experienced attorneys while managing substantive case responsibilities.
• Provide exceptional client service throughout all phases of litigation.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Location

This is a full‑time, 100% on‑site position based in Milford, Connecticut, offering the opportunity to work side‑by‑side with experienced litigators in a highly collaborative office environment.

Note: Applicants must be admitted to the Connecticut Bar and have experience practicing in Connecticut State Court and/or Federal Court. This is an in‑office litigation role best suited for attorneys who are passionate about advocacy and courtroom practice.
