Associate Litigation Attorney - Connecticut

Overview:

Our firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Litigation Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in municipal law, tort litigation, and general litigation practice. This position offers the opportunity to handle cases from inception through trial, working closely with partners and municipal clients.

Responsibilities:

• Represent municipalities, public entities, and private clients in state and federal litigation.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Appear in court for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and strategies.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure effective case management.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut (federal court admission a plus).
• 2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in municipal or tort litigation.
• Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis platform, writing, and oral advocacy.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in legal drafting and understanding of litigation procedures.
• Familiarity with legal administrative processes within a busy law office setting.
• Effective negotiation skills to facilitate settlements or resolve disputes efficiently.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
