Associate Attorney – Glendale, CA
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team in Glendale, CA. Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $120,000‑$140,000 per year, plus applicable bonus.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties
- Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, and related documents for active litigation files
- Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action
- Advocate on behalf of the client’s interests in various litigation settings
- Update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory using internal proprietary software
- Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and files to ensure proper workflow per firm and client expectations
- Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures
- Travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required
- Prepare for and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including case strategy development, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and presenting oral arguments
- Negotiate settlements with consumers and their legal representatives to resolve disputes efficiently while protecting client interests
- Evaluate case merits, assess risk exposure, and provide strategic legal recommendations
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and court procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing in California
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated self‑starter
- Eagerness to learn
- Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload
- Effective verbal communication in a common language with individuals or groups
- Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
- Commitment to a minimum 40‑hour flexible workweek schedule
- Ability to read and comprehend position‑specific documents and correspondence
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year of litigation/trial experience
- Working knowledge of civil procedure
- Debt collection experience
- Prior experience in a high‑volume environment
Physical Qualifications
- Be able to lift five pounds or greater
- Be able to sit 90% of the workday at times
- Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
- Be able to concentrate and use critical thinking
