LHH is assisting a Chicago-based Chambers-ranked law firm in finding an Associate Attorney (Civil Defense Litigation) to support its presence in Chicago. The role involves civil defense litigation, including professional negligence, medical malpractice, and construction matters, with duties that include depositions, court appearances, mediations, and drafting pleadings and motions.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of litigation experience and must be licensed in Illinois or eligible for waiver.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois or eligible for admission by waiver into Illinois.
• Experience in civil defense, depositions, and court appearances.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Attend court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal briefs.
• Handle discovery and case strategy development.
