Job summary

Monahan Law Group, LLC, a well-established downtown Chicago firm with 35+ years in guardianship, probate, and estate administration, seeks an associate attorney who is a new law school graduate or newly admitted to the bar to represent clients.

You will work in-office with a supportive team of 10 attorneys, handle probate and estate matters, conduct research, prepare documents, and appear in court if licensed, all within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent law degree required.
• Entry-level experience in legal practice preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Client advocacy experience beneficial.

We are seeking an associate attorney, either a new law school graduate who has taken the bar exam or a newly licensed attorney, to represent clients in guardianship, probate, and estate administration cases. This in-office role offers the opportunity to begin your legal career with a supportive team of 10 attorneys committed to principled advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare legal documents related to probate, guardianship, and estate administration
• Appear in court as counsel, if licensed
• Manage cases efficiently, prioritizing deadlines with strong time management skills
• Conduct legal research to support client representation
• Advocate effectively on behalf of clients
• Adapt to changes while maintaining a positive and professional attitude
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
