Job summary

Kent & McBride, P.C., a Civil Defense litigation firm in Cherry Hill, NJ, seeks an energetic Litigation Associate for its growing practice. The successful candidate will work with senior attorneys on discovery, case management, and trial preparation.

The role includes court appearances, drafting motions and briefs, conducting hearings, and negotiating settlements. NJ bar admission is required; PA/NY/DE a plus.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree with NJ license to practice law; additional admission in PA/DE/NY a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct discovery and prepare cases for trial in conjunction with more senior attorneys.
• Make court appearances for case management/status, settlement, and pretrial conferences as well as motion hearings.
• Draft motion papers and appellate briefs.
• Conduct arbitration hearings and bench trials.
• Negotiate settlements.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-5 years of General Litigation experience (Writing/Trials).
• Courtroom experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills (i.e., active listening, negotiation, persuasion).
• Excellent analytical skills (i.e., critical thinking, independent problem solving and decision making).
• Well-developed written communication skills.
