We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team and contribute to our estate planning and estate transactions practice.

Position Overview:

The Associate Attorney will work on a variety of probate and estate-related legal matters, estate planning, trust administration, asset transfers, and real property transactions connected to estate planning. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to deepen their experience in an estate-focused practice within a supportive and collegial firm environment. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. The Associate Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys to provide high-quality legal services while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and related documents
• Represent clients in probate court proceedings and hearings
• Communicate with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel
• Manage probate case timelines and deadlines
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals on complex estate matters
• Handle trust administration and guardianship filings as needed

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
• 1–5 years of probate, estate planning, or related legal experience preferred
• Strong legal research, drafting, and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Compassionate and professional client service
