Job summary

BCG Attorney Search is seeking an Associate Attorney in Auburn Hills, Michigan to manage bankruptcy and foreclosure matters, attend hearings, and collaborate with court staff. The attorney will support the Managing Director on special projects and business development.

The role requires a Juris Doctor and admission to the Michigan bankruptcy courts, with strong communication and organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment. On-site work in Auburn Hills is expected.

Qualifications

• J.D. required; licensed to practice in MI bankruptcy courts.
• Experience with bankruptcy/foreclosure and complex litigation preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of bankruptcy and foreclosure matters.
• Conduct file reviews and document production.
• Attend court hearings in person or by video/phone.
• Communicate effectively with clients, management, and staff.
• Handle all legal matters for assigned cases.
• Suggest process improvements for efficiency.
• Update time/billing software and assist in approving invoices.

Job Overview

The role involves managing legal matters related to bankruptcy and foreclosure cases, including hearings, pleadings, and collaboration with clerical staff. The attorney will also assist the Managing Director with special projects and business development.

Duties

• Maintain a caseload of bankruptcy and foreclosure cases to meet client expectations.
• Conduct file reviews, including document production and execution.
• Attend court hearings in person or via telephone/video conferences.
• Communicate effectively with clients, management, and employees.
• Handle all legal matters related to assigned cases.
• Propose ideas for improving operational efficiencies.
• Update time billing software and assist in approving bills and invoices.

Requirements

• Undergraduate Degree.
• Juris Doctor Degree.
• License to practice law in the Bankruptcy Courts in the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan.
• Maintain good standing in courts of any jurisdiction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Preferred experience in an hourly or flat fee compensation environment.
• Preferred experience in foreclosure proceedings and/or complex commercial litigation.

Education

• Undergraduate Degree.

Certifications
