Key Responsibilities

Client Advocacy & Legal Support

• Advocate for clients in legal documents, transactions, and litigation.
• Conduct and facilitate client consultations.
• Engage with other parties to advance client interests.
• Collaborate on and support brokering client deals.
• Anticipate, plan for, and resolve client issues while mastering relevant areas of law.

Legal Research & Document Management

• Perform and/or delegate legal research efficiently.
• Draft and direct correspondence.
• Scan, proofread, and edit client materials.
• Communicate clearly and manage the workflow of legal assistants and law clerks with defined expectations, check-ins, and deadlines.
• Oversee and review the work of Legal Assistants and Law Clerks.
• Keep the Senior Attorney informed on project status, client relationships, and emerging issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills

• One year or less experience with a law firm.
• Fewer than five years in legal practice.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with New Mexico legal filing software.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and Adobe.
• Experienced in operating general office equipment (copier, scanner, multi-line phone system).
• Strong proficiency in English, including spelling, grammar, and drafting.
