Job summary

Jobtailor in San Diego, CA is seeking an Asset Management Analyst to monitor operational and financial performance of renewable assets and to support budgets and cash flow analyses.

The role requires strong analytical skills, Excel/Tableau/Python, and SAP familiarity, with the ability to read contracts and manage risks in PPA/offtake and tax equity structures. A four-year degree and 1–3 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree and a minimum of 1–3 years of applicable working experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Understanding of sustainability principles and renewable energy resources.
  • Ability to identify renewable energy technologies and explain how an asset converts resource into MWhs.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Financial modeling experience is a bonus.
  • Previous accounting or finance training preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data management tools such as SAP is a plus.
  • Above-average skills with Excel, Tableau, Python, or similar.
  • SafeStart training and adherence to safety policy.
  • Ability to perform normal standing, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.; ability to climb, lift, and bend when outside the office.

Responsibilities

  • Compile reports and monitor operational and financial performance of renewable assets in the region.
  • Practice processes for managing, maintaining, and optimizing power plants.
  • Assess risks associated with different PPA offtake and Tax Equity structures.
  • Comply with HSES standards, EDFR safety policies, internal compliance protocols, Code of Ethics, and procedures.
  • Gather resources to support Asset Managers in developing annual budgets.
  • Monitor cash flow activity and flag negative financial trends.
  • Interface with Generation Accounting and Valuations and Analytics teams regarding cash flow needs, distributions, RSCR and DSCR calculations, and invoice payments.
  • Monitor project performance and research improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing business cases for operational and financial performance improvements.
  • Track and analyze wholesale electricity market participation risks for assigned projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable contracts and permits and assist with compliance activities.
  • Understand project availability calculations and basic maintenance activities.
  • Work with Performance and Reliability Engineering and Operations teams on operational performance solutions.
  • Support outage management, callouts, and transmission operator notification requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize project performance and ensure project compliance.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis, research, initiatives, and presentations.
  • Travel to project sites, conferences, training, and vendor facilities within the United States
