Aimé Leon Dore is looking for an Associate Art Director to join our team in New York, New York, reporting directly to the SVP, Marketing. This highly hands‑on role bridges creative concepting and execution, ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑standard environment where brand aesthetic and commercial impact must co‑exist. You will collaborate cross‑functionally (Marketing, Creative, Retail, E‑commerce, Production) and help drive photo‑shoots, motion content, digital campaigns and in‑store visual assets.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the SVP and VP of Brand to conceive and develop visual concepts for seasonal campaigns, mainline releases, partnerships and brand‑driven initiatives.
  • Lead art direction of photo‑shoots, video assets, lookbooks, digital channels and social content – ensuring aesthetic consistency and brand alignment.
  • Execute design work (or lead designers) for digital/print collateral, retail signage, store graphics, event visuals, packaging and merchandising support.
  • Collaborate with Digital, Marketing, Merch, and Retail Operations to translate campaign visuals into omni‑channel execution (web, mobile, in‑store).
  • Maintain and evolve the brand’s visual guidelines, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and adherence to craft and aesthetic standards.
  • Mentor or support junior designers or freelancers; provide creative feedback, art‑direction guidance and uphold visual excellence.
  • Monitor industry trends in fashion, lifestyle, art and culture – bring fresh visual ideas, innovation and competitive insight into the brand’s output.
  • Measure visual content performance (engagement, conversion, brand lift) in collaboration with marketing/analytics to inform future creative direction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, advertising, fine arts or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years minimum of art‑direction or senior designer experience – preferably within fashion, luxury, lifestyle or retail brand environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating campaigns, photo‑shoots, digital assets and high‑end visual work that align with premium brand aesthetics.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Figma) and familiarity with motion/video tools (After Effects, Premiere) or ability to collaborate effectively with motion teams.
  • Hands‑on experience leading photo‑shoots/video production: concepting, mood‑boarding, set direction, post‑production oversight.
  • Excellent visual sensibility: typography, layout, color, composition, storytelling through visuals, and brand‑environment understanding.
  • Strong project management skills: ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, work within budget and collaborate cross‑functionally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: able to articulate creative rationale, influence stakeholders, and partner across teams.
  • Passion for culture, lifestyle, art, fashion and ability to bring fresh visual ideas that resonate with the brand’s heritage and future direction.
