  • Provide customer service to the public regarding zoning and land-use regulations, development standards, flood-plain designations, and demographics.
  • Review and approve land-use and development proposals, General Plan amendments, and Zoning Ordinance updates.
  • Administer and implement the City's General Plan and Zoning Ordinance.
  • Process and review updates and amendments to the General Plan and Zoning Ordinance.
  • Create and implement master plans to guide future development.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates on development, land divisions, and environmental review.
  • Act as staff for the City's Planning Commission, providing reports and recommendations.
  • Process applications for Temporary Use Permits, Home Occupation Permits, and Large Family Day Care Permits.
  • Conduct field evaluations and assessments and provide feedback for clarification on development projects.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Provide all services in an efficient, proactive, and client-focused manner.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three (3) plus years’ experience working for a CA municipality.
  • Must possess knowledge of California planning, zoning, general plan, and development laws, including subdivision, coastal and environmental laws and regulations.
