Job summary

Western Governors University is seeking a developer to support the design and implementation of AI-powered learning systems, operating at the intersection of applied AI, front-end development, and learning platforms. You will help translate learning intent into functional, reusable components while working under guidance from senior engineers.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in Salt Lake City, Utah, requiring five days per week in the office to foster collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of experience in front-end development or learning systems.
• Foundational proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Learning Systems Development: build interactive learning components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; develop reusable libraries and templates.
• AI & Workflow Support: assist in AI-driven workflows for summarization, feedback, and content structuring; document AI templates and best practices.
• Collaboration & Delivery: partner with product owners and engineers to ensure reliable, accessible, and scalable learning experiences.
• Systems Thinking: apply scalable design principles and identify automation opportunities; stay current with AI tools.
