Job summary

BKM Capital Partners in Newport Beach, CA is seeking an Associate AI Engineer to transform how work gets done through AI and automation. You will design and deploy AI-powered agents and enterprise automations using Claude, Codex, and related platforms, partnering with internal teams to uncover high-impact opportunities.

This role emphasizes production-quality solutions, strong collaboration, and delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and investor experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of software engineering or application development experience with hands-on AI/LLM solutions.
  • Strong development skills in SQL, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Extensive experience with Claude/Codex APIs or comparable enterprise LLM platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM concepts such as RAG, embeddings/vector search, prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool/function calling, and AI agents.
  • Experience integrating APIs, databases, cloud services, and enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering, data privacy, security, and production application development.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into practical technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience in real estate or finance is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy AI-powered applications, agents, and workflow automations using Claude, Codex, and other AI technologies.
  • Partner with internal teams to identify high-impact opportunities for AI and automation.
  • Monitor and manage AI requests routed through IT helpdesk and AI portal.
  • Build solutions using LLMs, APIs, RAG, structured outputs, tool calling, and agentic workflows.
  • Integrate AI capabilities with existing enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and SaaS platforms.
  • Move solutions from prototype to secure production applications with documentation.
  • Implement human-in-the-loop controls, monitoring, and approval processes for sensitive workflows.
  • Ensure AI solutions meet privacy, security, and data governance requirements.
  • Establish permissions, audit trails, monitoring, and safeguards for AI-enabled processes.
  • Measure impact through efficiency, accuracy, turnaround time, cost, and employee experience.
  • Stay current on emerging AI technologies and identify new opportunities.
  • Review, approve, and catalog new AI tools as requested by departments.

Job description

BKM Capital Partners is a growing firm looking for driven, entrepreneurial professionals who are passionate about technology, data, and solving complex business problems. Located in our Newport Beach, California office, the Associate AI Engineer will help transform how work gets done across our organization through AI and intelligent automation.

Using Claude and Codex as the primary AI platforms, you will partner with internal departments and resources to identify manual, repetitive, and complex workflows and turn them into secure, scalable AI-powered applications, agents, and automations.

This role will be responsible for designing and implementing AI agents, autonomous workflows, and enterprise automation systems that drive operational efficiency, reduce cycle times, improve investor experience, enhance compliance, and increase EBITDA through scalable automation.

This role is 100% in-office due to the collaborative nature. A hybrid work schedule is not available.

Essential Functions
  • Design, build, test, and deploy AI-powered applications, agents, and workflow automations using Claude, Codex, and other emerging AI technologies.
  • Partner with internal teams and resources to identify high-impact opportunities for AI and automation.
  • Monitor and manage AI requests routed through the IT helpdesk and the AI request portal.
  • Build solutions using LLMs, APIs, RAG, structured outputs, tool/function calling, and agentic workflows.
  • Integrate AI capabilities with existing enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and SaaS platforms.
  • Move solutions from prototype and proof-of-concept into secure, reliable production applications with documentation.
  • Build human-in-the-loop controls, monitoring, and approval processes for sensitive or regulated workflows.
  • Ensure AI solutions meet privacy, security, and data governance requirements.
  • Establish appropriate permissions, audit trails, monitoring, and safeguards for AI-enabled processes.
  • Measure the impact of solutions through improvements in efficiency, accuracy, turnaround time, cost, and employee experience.
  • Stay current on emerging AI technologies and identify new opportunities to responsibly apply them across the organization.
  • Review, approve, and catalog new AI tools and technologies as requested by departments or employees.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and complex project plans.

  • Experience in real estate or finance is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical professionals, business users, and senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
