Job summary

County of San Diego is seeking an Associate Accountant to perform professional level accounting work across budgetary records and complex reports. The role may involve supervising staff and handling journal entries, financial statements, and audits.

The ideal candidate has a BA in accounting or related field with at least two years of professional accounting experience; a California CPA can substitute for one year of experience. Training will support growth within PDS and SDAPCD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in accounting or related field and 12–18 accounting units.
• At least two years of professional accounting experience; CPA may substitute for one year.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional level accounting work with budgetary records and complex reports.
• Supervise clerical/paraprofessional accounting staff when needed.
• Conduct accounting or auditing duties: journal entries, financial statements, records and reports.
