Role Description

The Associate will be a full-time, on-site team member based in Boise, ID, supporting the firm’s civil litigation practice. Day-to-day responsibilities may include legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, and preparing memoranda and correspondence. The Associate will assist with case strategy, review and analyze evidence, participate in client communications, and coordinate with opposing counsel and courts. The role may involve attending hearings, depositions, and other proceedings under supervision, as well as contributing to trial preparation. The Associate will collaborate with partners and colleagues while managing deadlines and maintaining organized case files.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law (or eligibility for prompt admission) in Idaho; Washington or Alaska admission or willingness to obtain is a plus.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Experience or strong interest in civil litigation, insurance defense, or related practice areas.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, including the ability to draft clear and persuasive pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Ability to analyze complex factual and legal issues, develop case strategies, and make sound, pragmatic recommendations.
• Effective communication skills for working with clients, colleagues, courts, and opposing counsel.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to ethical practice.
• Comfort working in an on-site, collaborative office environment and contributing to a team-focused culture.
• Prior clerkship, internship, or practice experience in litigation is preferred but not required.
