The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience working in a mix of public and private accounting focusing on venture capital, private equity, or other closed-end fund structures. This person will sit on the asset management team with primary responsibility for Galaxy’s venture capital and closed-end fund products, with the opportunity to broaden their responsibilities and support our liquid hedge fund products as needed. This role will contain a unique opportunity to work on both the Finance and Operations teams and get involved in all middle and back-office functions of the funds. Role will be much broader than a standard accounting role and include treasury, capital call and distribution execution, investment closing support, valuation support, automation, and various other operational functions.
Review quarterly and annual fund NAVs, capital account allocations, and partners' capital account statements across Galaxy's venture capital and closed-end fund products. Manage the capital activity lifecycle — calculate and issue capital call and distribution notices, and track limited partner commitments, contributions, distributions, and unfunded balances. Manage fund cash, expenses, and treasury, including funding of portfolio company investments and coordination of closing mechanics. Prepare the quarterly Schedule of Investments and assemble valuation committee materials, coordinating with third-party valuation providers on portfolio company fair value marks under ASC 820. Calculate and review management fees, carried interest, and distribution waterfalls in accordance with each fund’s limited partnership agreement. Assist with product development, fund launches, and the formation of SPVs and co-investment vehicles. Work with internal legal/compliance and the fund administrator, respond to investor inquiries, and support Operational Due Diligence sessions. Maintain investment-level records across the portfolio, including cost basis, follow-on rounds, conversions, warrants, and realizations. Monitor compliance with limited partnership agreements and side letters, including limited partner reporting obligations and information rights. Coordinate the annual audit and tax process with fund administrators, auditors, and tax preparers, including review of partner K-1s. Provide support to Galaxy’s liquid hedge fund products as needed, including NAV review and other operational work. Embrace and champion the thoughtful adoption of AI to improve team performance and business outcomes. Leverage AI tools (e.g., generative AI, automation platforms, data copilots) to improve productivity, decision-making, and output quality in your day-to-day work.

The base salary ranges included below will be commensurate with candidate experience, expertise and local market. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise.
