Job Description

Our Company has an expansive vaccines portfolio and an exciting pipeline of human health vaccine candidates. This position will be part of a manufacturing organization that brings these vaccines to people around the world. The Vaccine Drug Substance Commercialization (VDSC) group within our Company's Manufacturing Division focuses on late-stage process development, technology transfer, and in-line support of vaccine products. We seek motivated scientists and engineers to work under the technical direction of a group leader to support development and licensure of novel vaccine candidates and in-line products.

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For

  1. Functioning as a key member of the process development team by executing lab-scale process development, in-process assay support, and process scale-up or scale-down of large molecule chemistry and purification (downstream) process unit operations.
  2. Collaborating with commercial manufacturing teams to support facility start-up activities and provide on-the-floor support for drug substance manufacturing, both within the Company network and at contract manufacturing organizations.
  3. Executing assignments against accelerated, critical-path timelines in a right-first-time manner.
  4. Authoring technical documents to support Process Performance Qualification and licensure.
  5. Participating in technical support activities for licensed vaccines, as needed.

Education Minimum Requirement

  • B.S. (or expected completion within 6 months of application) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or comparable discipline.

Required Experience And Skills

  • Relevant academic, internship, co-op, or professional experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed organizational, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail.

Preferred Experience And Skills

  • Ability to understand and execute experiments independently in fulfillment of assigned program objectives in a manner that meets quality and timeline expectations.
  • Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) awareness or experience.
  • Communication of scientific information through oral presentations and written documents.
