Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Draper, Utah, is seeking an Associate Inspector to support manufacturing through visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of components and finished medical devices, following established procedures.

This role emphasizes adherence to SOPs, documentation in device history records, teamwork in a clean-room environment, and the ability to read and write English. No prior experience required beyond a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required; no previous related experience needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspection of components and finished medical device products.
• Conduct functional testing using automated and manual equipment to verify conformance with specifications.
• Follow work instructions and SOPs; record traceable information in device history records; enter data into JDE as required.
• Verify manufacturing documents against component and device drawings.
• Assist with inventory control and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Assist and train colleagues from other sites as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and adhere to safety guidelines.

Performs inspector work to support manufacturing/production activities, following established procedures and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspection of components and/or finished medical device products using a wide variety of tools and equipment such as magnifying lamp, microscope, vision inspection system, etc. to ensure conformance with design specifications
• Perform functional testing of finished medical device products using both automated and manual valve testing equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications
• Review, follow and perform job functions in compliance with established work instructions and adherence with SOPs, including recording traceable information on device history records and may enter information into JDE.
• Perform verification of manufacturing documents with component and device drawings
• May control inventory to ensure appropriate storage conditions and movement
• May train colleagues from other sites, including inspection of their work output
• Other incidental duties: General work area housekeeping

Education and Experience

H.S. Diploma or equivalent. No previous related experience required.

Additional Skills

• Ability to use applicable tools and equipment, hand eye coordination, and high manual dexterity
• Basic level of understanding of inspection procedures
• Ability to effectively provide and accept feedback from colleagues
• Good communication skills
• Due to the specific duties of this job, you must be able to read, comprehend, write, and speak English
• Basic computer skills, preferred
• Strict attention to detail
• Adhere to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean room medical device manufacturing
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision
