Colorado State University’s Assistive Technology Resource Center seeks to ensure equitable access to technology for students and employees with disabilities, through assessments, training, and consultation across campus from an Occupational Therapy lens.

The Service Provider role partners with faculty and staff, develops training, builds relationships with campus support offices, and contributes to scholarly work while advancing best practices in AT service provision in higher education settings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
  • Knowledge of federal and state mandates prohibit discrimination and ensure accessible learning/work opportunities.
  • Familiarity with a variety of assistive technologies.
  • Experience with mainstream technologies (operating systems, mobile devices).
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated use of evidence-based best practices for service provision.
  • Willingness to supervise and mentor OT fieldwork students.
  • Eligible for OT licensure in Colorado.

Job Description

The Assistive Technology Resource Center (ATRC) seeks to ensure equitable access to technology and electronic information for Colorado State University students and employees with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Sections 504/508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Services include assistive technology assessments and training, as well as consultation and education regarding accessibility and universal design of mainstream and instructional technologies. The context of the ATRC allows for individuals to pursue areas of interest in scholarly endeavors and values and supports professional development with the aim of providing best practice for AT service provision in higher education.

Position Summary:

The Assistive Technology Service Provider position works directly with employees and students with disabilities needing assistive technology services and assists the larger CSU campus with addressing barriers in the electronic/digital realm all from an Occupational Therapy lens. The position provides a variety of job duties beyond direct AT/ client services to include but not limited to: campus training of faculty and staff, relevant committee involvement, relationship building with other campus support offices, and scholarly work to include dissemination of best practice serving students with disabilities in higher education settings.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Conduct assistive technology assessments and provide training for students and employees with disabilities

  • Assist with data collection and analysis of ATRC interventions/ outcomes measures

  • Participates in scholarly work such as professional presentations, grant writing, publications

  • Participates in professional development/ networking with AT in higher education personnel internal and external to CSU

  • Serve as a resource for assistive technology information e.g., vendors, products, services, etc.

Conditions of Employment
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

  • Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).

Supervision
  • No supervisory responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or clinical Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy

  • Knowledge of federal and state legislative mandates that prohibit discrimination and ensure equitable access to learning and work opportunities for students and employees with disabilities.

  • Familiarity with a variety of assistive technologies

  • Experience working with and knowledge of mainstream technologies (operating systems,

  • mobile devices)

  • Demonstrated effective collaboration skills and experience working with a team.

  • Demonstrated use of evidence-based best practices for service provision

  • Willingness to supervise and mentor OT fieldwork students

  • Eligible for OT licensure in state of Colorado

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of accessible electronic information

  • Minimum of 3 years of Occupational Therapy job experience

  • Experience delivering AT services and supports in higher education setting

  • Experience working with assistive technologies

  • Evidence of professional leadership in previous OT job positions

Salary Range

$35.00/hour
