Who Are You?

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) – Full Time (First Shift, Assisted Living) plays a vital role in providing compassionate daily care to residents in our Assisted Living community. This position involves assisting residents with essential activities of daily living while ensuring accurate and safe medication administration under the direction of a licensed nurse. As a CMA in Assisted Living, you will build meaningful relationships with residents while helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with daily activities, including dressing, eating, and personal hygiene.
  • Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight) and report any concerns.
  • Properly set up, administer, and document medications following facility policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain medication and treatment areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Report medication refusals or adverse reactions to the supervising nurse.
  • Provide supportive and respectful care, encouraging residents' independence while offering assistance as needed.
  • Follow infection control procedures and ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to enhance the overall well-being of residents.

Qualifications:

  • License/Certification:
    • Must be a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) with a valid certification in the state of Kansas.
    • Valid CPR certification required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in assisted living, senior care, or a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to work independently and adapt to the changing needs of residents in an assisted living setting.
