Job summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) to join Bay 9 Holdings LLC dba Edgemere in Dallas, Texas. The CMA will manage medications per physician orders, in accordance with care plans, and coordinate with licensed staff to ensure resident safety and well-being.

Responsibilities include setting up medications, documenting care, taking vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living while maintaining compliance with laws and policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one year working with the geriatric population.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification and Certified nursing aide licensure required by state regulations.
  • Have and maintain medication aide licensure per state requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Set- up medication for residents and provide medication, under the direction and monitoring of a licensed nurse, and according to physician orders. May order/reorder medications.
  • Record and document all medication, treatment and care provided for residents.
  • Take and record vital signs of residents.
  • Prepare monthly summaries, may take off physician orders and prepares chart for new residents.
  • Respond to resident calls and requests.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living.
  • Give and receive report at shift change, counts narcotics at that time.
  • May help residents prepare for and exercise, as appropriate.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
  • During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.

POSITION: CERTIFIED MEDICATION ASSISTANT (CMA)

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: PRN

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) to join our team at Bay 9 Holdings LLC dba Edgemere located in Dallas, Texas. The Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) is responsible for residents as directed by a care plan or agreement. This position has the responsibility of providing residents with their medications according to physician orders.

Compensation & Benefits: This is a Full-time/Baylor Plan, weekend doubles (6am-10pm), hourly position with a salary of $19.00+ per hour. Requirements

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: The physical responsibilities of this position constantly require effective bending, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. This position often involves medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned or make observations of residents and environment; close visual acuity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, operating medical equipment, reading a computer screen, reading printed material, inspection of small defects, and using measurement devices. The functions of this position are conducted in a temperature-controlled environment and not substantially exposed to adverse environment conditions and may be routinely exposed to working hazards, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, cleaning chemicals, and odors.

INTELLECTUAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The occupant of this position must be able to perform the responsibilities of the position well under pressure. The position requires adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. This position requires the ability to deal with and find resolution to problems and maintain a productive working relationship with team members and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of others. It also requires adaptability to fluctuate between priorities daily while being responsive to needs as they arise.
