Job summary

Western Dental & Orthodontics in Greensboro, NC is seeking a friendly part-time dental hygienist who enjoys building relationships with patients. Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday 8am–5pm, with some Mondays or Fridays as needed.

Qualifications

• A degree or certificate in hygiene from an accredited program.
• Valid state license to practice dental hygiene.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and communicate professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide oral hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing and sealant applications.
• Accurately chart patient dental history, periodontal health and treatment records, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist dentist as directed and administer local anesthetics when permitted by law.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and nutrition and counsel on related health impacts.

Work Schedule:Tuesday -Thursday 8am-5pm, some Mondays as needed or Fridays as needed

Our team of dental hygienists perform a variety of preventative dental procedures as well as educate patients on oral hygiene. From routine cleanings to oral health education, you'll be instrumental in helping our patients achieve and maintain their best smiles. In addition to technical duties, the dental hygienist will play an important role in teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene techniques and offer counseling regarding good nutrition and its impact on oral health.

• Provide oral hygiene services including thorough and gentle prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polish restorations, and application of cavity preventative agents such as fluorides and sealant applications
• Accurately chart a review of patient dental history and update as necessary, patient's periodontal health, record provided treatment, and handle patient records securely and in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Provide assistance as directed by the dentist
• Administer local anesthetics, if allowed by dental practice act
