A leading church in Louisville is seeking a part-time Assistant Youth Pastor to support the Pastor of Youth Ministries. This role involves teaching, planning youth activities, and mentoring students while working towards full-time opportunities. Ideal candidates are currently pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies or a related field and have a passion for youth discipleship.
Position Title: Assistant Youth Pastor
Reports To: Pastor of Youth Ministries
Salary: Based on experience
Hours: Part-time (approximately 20-25 hours per week)
Position Summary:
The Assistant Youth Pastor will support the Pastor of Youth Ministries by helping teach Sunday school, organizing weekly Bible studies, and assisting in the planning, execution, communication and teaching of youth group activities. This role is designed to potentially grow into a full-time position. It is ideal for a student pursuing a bachelor’s or masters’ degree in ministry or biblical studies degree.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a genuine love for Christ, His Church, His Word, and His mission.
- Either has or is pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies, Ministry, Theology, or a related field.
- Agrees to abide by The Chapel’s Statement of Faith.
- Experience working with youth in a ministry or educational setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Passion for youth discipleship and a heart for mentoring and leading young people.
- A desire and growing ability to teach, engage, and build relationships with youth from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Prior experience in youth ministry or teaching.
- Comfortable leading small groups, Bible studies, and large group teaching.
- Knowledge of youth culture and trends to engage youth effectively.
