  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
  • Ability to obtain Class A, Subclass 3 Wastewater Operator Certification within two years of employment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Pesticide Application License.
  • Strong math and analytical skills for data collection and testing accuracy.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Proficient communication with coworkers, management, regulatory officials (DER/EPA), and agricultural partners.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and environmental stewardship.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing operational demands in a compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Record daily readings for all utility meters, including water, electric, and fuel usage.
  • Prepares and submits accurate weekly energy usage reports.
  • Maintains detailed logs and reports required by the NPDES permit.
  • Inspects, cleans, and maintains WWTP equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Monitors wastewater treatment processes, identifies irregularities, and performs corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinates with independent laboratories and engineering consultants for testing and analysis.
  • Monitors inventory levels and submits requisitions for testing and maintenance supplies.
  • Assists with special projects related to plant operations and improvements.
  • Adheres to all safety practices and wear protective equipment as required.
  • Follows GMP, food safety, plant security, and product quality procedures as applicable.
  • Supports and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.

Job Details: Job Location: Hanover, PA 17331, Job Shift: Graveyard, The duties listed below are representative of the types of responsibilities required for the role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the organization:

  • Records daily readings for all utility meters, including water, electric, and fuel usage.
  • Prepares and submits accurate weekly energy usage reports.
  • Maintains detailed logs and reports required by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.
  • Inspects, cleans, and maintains WWTP equipment to ensure optimal and continuous operation.
  • Lubricates equipment according to manufacturer and operational standards.
  • Monitors wastewater treatment processes, identifies irregularities, and performs corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conducts and documents testing of wastewater, sludge, and monitoring wells as required by NPDES and local Township permits.
  • Maintains laboratory instruments and ensures calibration and accuracy for testing procedures.
  • Coordinates with independent laboratories and engineering consultants for specialized testing and analysis.
  • Monitors inventory levels and submits requisitions for testing and maintenance supplies.
  • Performs grounds maintenance and facility upkeep, including mowing, snow removal, and related duties.
  • Assists with special projects related to plant operations and improvements.
  • Adheres to all safety practices and wear required protective equipment and clothing.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, plant security, and product quality procedures as applicable.
  • Supports and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by Wastewater Treatment management.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a wastewater treatment or similar environmental operations setting preferred.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License (Class C or higher) required.
  • Ability to obtain a Class A, Subclass 3 Wastewater Operator Certification within two years of employment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Pesticide Application License.
  • Strong math and analytical skills for data collection and testing accuracy.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
