East Jessamine High School is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach for the 2026-2027 school year in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The role supports the head coach in planning and coordinating the wrestling program and practices while promoting sports within the school and community.

The ideal candidate will assist with teaching skills, team strategy, and regulations, while ensuring student eligibility and safety through required certifications and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED as required by Kentucky law.
• 64 semester hours of college credit required.
• Proof of Adult CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
• NFHS Coaching Principles Certification.
• KRS 160.445 Heat Related Emergency Training.
• Official transcripts and diplomas.
• Coaches Code of Ethics Form.
• Current W4 Form.
• Current Medical Exam with TB test.
• Criminal records check.
• Concussion training.
• Physical Restraint & Seclusion Training.
• Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Training.
• KMA/KHSAA Sports Safety Course.
• KHSAA Sport Specific Rules Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Assist in promoting sports in the school and community.
• Assist the head coach in planning the athletic program.
• Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising practices.
• Assist the head coach in teaching individual fundamental skills, team plan, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
• Assist the head coach in teaching good sportsmanship and self-control.
• Assist in checking eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
• Assist students by providing a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
• Conduct learning experiences, under the direction of the coaches, with small groups of student athletes.
• Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
