Job summary

Jessamine County School District in Nicholasville, Kentucky seeks an Assistant Wrestling Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports wrestling programs at East Jessamine Middle School and reports to the Athletic Director.

Immediate start and extra-duty position through the school year. The candidate will assist in planning, organizing practices, teaching skills and strategies, and promoting sportsmanship while ensuring student eligibility and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 64 semester hours of college credit.
• Proof of Adult CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
• NFHS Coaching Principles Certification.
• KRS 160.445 Heat Related Emergency Training.
• Official transcripts and diplomas.
• Coaches Code of Ethics Form.
• Current W4 Form and current medical exam with TB test.
• Criminal records check, driver's license and SSN on file.
• Concussion training and safety course completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist coaches in promoting sports in the school and community.
• Assist the head coach in planning the athletic program.
• Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising practices.
• Assist the head coach in teaching skills, team plan, strategy, and rules.
• Assist in teaching good sportsmanship and self-control.
• Check eligibility, insurance coverage and parent consent.
• Provide guidance and act as a positive role model.
• Conduct learning experiences with small groups of student athletes.
• Recommend equipment purchases for health and safety.
