Job description

The Athletic Department at Milligan University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach with an anticipated start date of early August. Reporting to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, this position will involve coaching both Varsity and JV basketball teams, recruiting, assisting with organization of the program, and developing players both in the sport and in their personal development as student-athletes.

Successful candidates should have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred), have 3+ years of coaching experience, and experience working at the collegiate level. This candidate should also be organized, maintain an extensive knowledge of the game of basketball, display the ability to teach the game and recruit, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Successful candidates should also demonstrate a strong Christian faith and commitment to Milligan’s mission as a Christian liberal arts university. Primary duties and responsibilities would be performed coaching and traveling with Varsity and JV teams, six practices/games per week, recruiting responsibilities during the school year and off season, summer camp management, assistance with fundraising/marketing of the program, etc.
