Compensation

Assistant salon managers can earn on average $13.00 - $18+ per hour, which includes base pay plus up to 12% commission and a monthly bonus. Top-performing managers can earn even more.

Responsibilities

• Maintain salon staff by recruiting, selecting, and orienting employees.
• Achieve sales goals and other performance criteria by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to sales staff; including coaching, counseling, and correcting employees.
• Complete company operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, and following up on work results.
• Achieve financial objectives through effective monitoring of controllable expenses such as labor, cost of sales, and other expenses.
• Maintain the stability and reputation of the salon by complying with all legal requirements.
• Manage and assign tasks appropriately to ensure the salon is clean, adequately stocked, organized, well-kept, and customer-ready.
• Establish rapport with customers and build loyalty and long-term relationships.
• Create a positive, motivating, team-based environment.
• Investigate and resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Analyze daily sales and expense information and perform all other financial analyses to maximize sales and net profits.
• Safeguard and account for all money received and be responsible for banking requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven experience in a retail/customer service environment.
• One-year supervisory experience.
• Ability to positively influence others.
• Must be able to stand, bend, and walk for long periods, for 7+ hours per day.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance.
• Reliable transportation and flexible availability, including nights and weekends.
