Job summary

Palm Beach Tan is seeking an Assistant Salon Manager in Charleston, SC to lead and develop the team while driving sales and customer satisfaction.

You will recruit staff, coach sales, schedule shifts, and manage costs to meet financial goals, all in a welcoming team environment with growth opportunities and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven experience in retail/customer service environment.
• One-year supervisory experience.
• Ability to positively influence others.
• Must be able to stand, bend, and walk for long periods.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the salon manager with recruiting, selecting, and orienting employees.
• Achieve sales goals and other performance criteria by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff.
• Schedule and assign employees; follow up on work results.
• Achieve financial objectives through monitoring controllable expenses such as labor and cost of sales.
• Maintain salon cleanliness, stocking, organization and customer readiness.
• Establish rapport with customers to build loyalty and long-term relationships.

Assist the salon manager with:

• Maintaining salon staff by recruiting, selecting, and orienting employees.
• Achieving sales goals and other performance criteria by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to sales staff; including coaching, counseling, and correcting employees.
• Completing company operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
• Achieving financial objectives through effective monitoring of controllable expenses such as labor, cost of sales, and expenses.
• Maintaining the stability and reputation of the salon by complying with all legal requirements.
• Managing and assigning tasks appropriately to ensure the salons are clean, adequately stocked, organized, well-kept, and customer ready.
• Establishing rapport with customers building loyalty and long-term relationships
• Creating a positive, motivating, team based environment.
• Investigating and resolving customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Analyzing daily sales and expense information and performing all other financial analyses to maximize sales and net profits.
• Safeguarding and accounting for all money received and being responsible for banking requirements.

Qualifications:

Compensation: $16 - $20+ per hour (base pay + up to 12% commission + monthly bonus)
