Fleet Water Polo is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Coach to help develop athletes across all age groups and skill levels. The Assistant Coach will work directly under the Head Coach to support daily practices, game strategy, player development, and team culture. This individual should possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to athlete growth, and a passion for teaching the fundamentals and advanced concepts of water polo.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and conducting water polo practices, drills, and conditioning sessions.

• Help implement the Head Coach’s training programs, game strategies, and skill progression plans.

• Provide constructive feedback to athletes to improve technical and tactical performance.

• Supervise athletes during practices, games, and team activities to ensure a safe, positive environment.

• Support athletes in developing teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and resilience.

• Assist with team travel, tournament logistics, and game day management.

• Help foster a strong, inclusive team culture that aligns with Fleet Water Polo’s mission and values.

• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and coaching staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Background in water polo as a player and/or coach preferred.

• Ability to teach fundamental skills, game awareness, and conditioning appropriate to various age groups.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

• USA Water Polo Coach membership and SafeSport certification (or willingness to obtain).
