Join the Drug Plastics Family as our Assistant Warehouse Supervisor! This is a Monday-Friday, salaried position that is scheduled 11am-7:30p. The Assistant Warehouse Supervisor, coordinates warehouse functions for the Boyertown plant, maintains DPG standards and achieving high level of employee involvement and morale. Primary role is warehouse worker, trained to cover in all areas for reliving of lunch, vacations or absences. This includes, but not limited to, loading & unloading, pulling and staging orders, shipping and put-away coverage. This role will also provide leadership, training and support clerical functions, as needed.

Some Responsibilities include:
- Must be capable of successfully performing all of the essential functions of the job, aligned with the warehouse supervisor objectives
- Establish the overall goal and objectives to be met by the warehousing team
- Achieve or exceed established objectives for the reduction of costs due to poor quality, shipping errors
- Provide effective leadership on order to maximize employee contributions to attain established objectives
- In the absence of the supervisor:
- Supervise warehouse employees to insure all warehouse functions are maintained to DPG standards
- Promote positive employee relations by motivation, training, evaluating & communication with employees
- Coach & motivate employees to meet or exceed performance expectations
- Insure that warehouse areas are free from hazards, clean (5S) and employee are working safely
- Attend shift changes meeting prior to and after shift change to discuss warehouse issues or tasks that need to be completed
- Communicate with employees regarding job assignments, specific problems encountered on priors shifts, safety issues and general business events
- Meet with warehouse employees daily to review and address concerns
- Review shipping & receiving requirements to assure schedules are on target
- Assign and prioritize daily/ weekly tasks to warehouse employees
- Communicate any warehousing issues to the warehouse supervisor as needed
- Review and approve the hours worked by a warehouse employee on the shift on a daily basis in the absence of the warehouse supervisor
- Complete required warehousing reports in the absence of the warehouse supervisor
- Understand and be able to effectively use material data sheets
- Maintain and manage warehouse inventory (finished good & raw material) in according to FIFO and corporate directives
- Conduct cycle count inventories and ensure the virtual inventory in the DPG system is accurate
- Coordinate with corporate departments (PPIC, PURCHASHING, CUSTOMER SERVICE, LOGISTICS, ETC) to ensure the shipping of finished goods and the receiving of raw material are timely & without errors
- Supervise the maintenance of all warehouse equipment
- Manage recycling program ( plastic regrind, corrugated scrap, etc.) in order to maximize warehouse space as well as reduce cost ( example: selling of regrind and corrugated scrap)
- Conduct personal interviews of new hire candidates when needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- A college degree is preferred but not required
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment is highly desirable
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead people and get results through to others
- Must be a team player with excellent organization and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills

- Computer experience is needed able to use word and excel documents
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in ambient temperature (cold and hot in the appropriate months)
- Requires significant amount of sitting and walking
- Requires the ability to drive a forklift
- May be required to lift up to 75lb occasionally
